The songs and duets will be performed in chronological order, beginning with Lied zum Geburtstag meines guten Vaters, composed at the age of 10, and ending with Altdeutsches Frühlingslied, composed a month before Mendelssohn’s death, and Volkslied that was sung at his funeral. The recital will contain recently discovered songs edited by Eugene Asti and published by Bärenreiter.
